When choosing your photographer it is important to find work that you love and a personality you connect strongly with. I want to work with couples who are in love with life, in love with each other and in love with photography. Your wedding day happens once and the memories you are about to capture will only gain importance over the years. I would love to be the one who helps you accomplish that.
My style is photojournalistic with an editorial twist, which means I will capture candid moments as they happen & classically beautiful directed portraits when appropriate. After all, not everyone is a natural in front of the camera yet we all want it to appear effortless. This is where I work with you to bring out your best, most natural look and enhance the details you’ve worked so hard on. Q: Can we customize a collection to suit our unique needs?
Definitely. There are many different ways photographers price their work and the time they spend photographing, editing and displaying each wedding. I’ve created 4 collections based on my 10 years experience building wedding photography collections. These are to help you budget and compare ‘apples to apples’. Each collection can be modified to suit your own unique needs. Please email me for a complete list of collections and a la carte pricing.
Q: What does event coverage start at?
Initial event coverage starts at $2000 plus HST and covers your engagement session* and your wedding day with 2 experienced photographers. Once the wedding is over and the images are ready we meet in the studio to review the images and decide the best way for you to retell the story of your day. Items such as albums and prints can be added to your wedding collection at this point. Please email me for a complete list of a la carte pricing.
*Products for your Engagement session are ordered at a separate viewing appointment and are NOT included in the cost of your event coverage.
Q: What is the minimum I should expect to invest when creating a collection?
Collections start at $3900 and include 2 experienced photographers, engagement session, full day coverage at all venues, high resolution digital negatives on a beautiful thumb drive, personal website/viewing gallery, digital ‘bragbooks’, and multiple planning sessions. We also meet several times after the wedding to create beautiful products for you and your family to purchase, including albums, giclee prints and fine art displays.
Q: What do we do now? How do we book you?
Your initial decision is simply if you like my work and feel we have a good connection. I can’t emphasize having a good connection with your photographer enough. We spend one of the most stressful, emotional and whirlwind days of your life together. I’d better be able to share a good laugh and/or become invisible when the moment calls for it.
Emotion aside… a $1500 deposit is required to secure my services on your wedding day. The remainder is due 2 weeks prior to the wedding. All decisions about how to display your images can be made after the big day, allowing you to focus on the details and let the planning phase flow! I also require a signed contract which outlines the details and keeps everyone on the same page.
Q: How long do we have to wait for the photos?
In an ideal world I estimate 3-4 weeks for your finished gallery. During busy season this can be 1-2 weeks more, although I try my best to have images to you within one month. You WILL get a sneak peak with a few of my favourites within 1-2 weeks though.
Q: How many images will we receive?
Every wedding is different. Families and wedding parties vary in size so there is no SET number of images. You can expect at the very least to receive 300-350 images, and more if you have a large event with maximum coverage.
Q: What if we need more time on the wedding day?
No problem! I check in with you during the day and work with your other vendors to stay on schedule, but sometimes the party just must go on. Extra coverage is $250 per hour and covers both photographers for this time.
Q: Engagement session… do we have to?
Well, no. Nothing is required. But even for the most hesitant couples engagement sessions turn into a super fun time to share with your fiancee and an important time for us to get to know each other. Let’s get the cobwebs out before the big day – and I’ll treat you to a drink afterwards as incentive 😉
The Value of an Engagement Session
This is the very best way to get to know your photographer (me!) before I spend the day with you at your wedding! I will likely spend more time with you ON THE DAY than your fiancee or your parents so it is nice for you to get to know my sense of humor and for me to get to know your style and your limits.It is also a fabulous reason to enjoy a fun, spontaneous and romantic morning or afternoon out with your fiancee!
Courage the Day After
Day After sessions are a fabulous way to get those couple shots that just never seem to happen and that you may be more brave to try after the wedding. Think of this fun session as an opportunity to wear your dress again and have fun as a newly married couple! Always wanted to run through the sand in your wedding dress? Ever think about leopard print stiletto’s and angel’s wings? With your wedding gown? This is the time!
We do not trash your dress, in fact, you usually leave the session just as you arrive unless you choose to do water based images, which are great fun and a good idea to end the session.
